Week 3-MTC

Dearest Family,
No I didn't forget you, my "p" days got changed to today.
To start off thank you so much for the Easter care package. I really do like the yo-yo tradition, I am going to continue that. My companion and I loved the mindy-mint eggs. I also love the cinnamon-roll cookies. So does everyone. The "beano" made me laugh.
Mason, I would love to see some pictures of your pine wood derby car. I'm going to be sending home some pictures also in a few days. To answer your other question, strangely enough I am not homesick. Sometimes I think about home, but being so busy here, the thought usually flees my mind. I am where I'm supposed to be.
Cassie, I do know what a Medley is, I did take track in Jr. High. But don't keep changing what you run in. Stick to one and keep working at it. I made the mistake of not doing that in Jr. High. I didn't really accomplish anything.
Rissa, My alarm clock doesn't play Cd's, it's broken. My whole district (which consists of 5 companionship's; 4 sisters and 6 elders) has become my family away from home. I love them all so much. Favorite days of the week? Sundays and Wednesdays (used to be Tuesdays) those days are just so much relaxed and slower paced.
Cavin, your picture made me laugh. Dad, doesn't yell at you all the time, just listen to him. I wish so much, that most of my arguments with dad didn't happen. Most of them where my fault. Just learn to listen to him. Ha, tell any boy that they have to go through me, before getting you. Drew says hi. Kinda awkward though, cause I never talk to him ever. Have fun at the workouts.
Mother, I packed Megamind away, I don't know why I did. But it's in one of my boxes. Everything under my bed, you can D.I. Yes waking up my companion is kind of ironic. But, my companion, like me, hates noisy eaters. So HA!
Father, Most of that candy I have I haven't eaten yet. I still have those small Reese's from what you packed in my bag. Easter was different, the meal wasn't as good as I usually have. Sundays aren't the best. Food wise.
I've actually gained my weight back, but, I don't eat the ice cream though. Grandpa & Grandma Lee I hop you enjoy hiking! I wish you the best of luck! Have fun!
Grandma Proctor, thank you so much for the chocolate eggs, it made my companion feel special. I love going to the temple each week, actually I'm going in ten minutes. I do get that "temple spirit" every time I go. Thank you so much for your prayers. They are much appreciated. I pray for everyone back home every night. I hope everyone is doing well.
Some pretty awesome things have happened. Every Tuesday a G.A. (general authority) comes and speaks to us at a devotional. Yesterday we had Dallin H. Oaks and last week we had Richard G. Scott, which is awesome because before last week there hasn't been an Apostle for 13 weeks. I am very blessed. What is awesome is that I am called by the same title as those Apostles. "Elder" I am called to do the same work. Truly special. They have such strong testimonies, I hope I can get one like that. That spirit was wonderful.
The Russian language is so amazing. I'm surprised how much I know. Right now I have the First Vision in Russian, memorized. Russian is such a pretty language. One phrase I use all the time, is "Я не знаю" which is pronounced "yah neh zniu" which means "I don't know". Lot's of fun. :)
I have to apologize for my last letter. The computer spazed out on me and gave me only 15 minutes to write instead of 30 minutes.
Everyone tells me to tell you, Mom, to keep sending treats, and that you are amazing. Your shop will be great.
I do have tons of food left though,
Love Always,
Старейшина давйс
P.S. I would very much love if I could get my memory foam pillow. :)
P.S.S. Could you get me Tanner Hatches, home address?

Week 2 -MTC

Dearest Family,
Hawaii, good one Riss.
It's funny how Sadie misses me, she'll get over that soon. Maybe. Two years is going to be a long time. But it will go by fast.
Cassie get over the color, at least you have your own room now. D&C 78:19 "And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious,..." And Cassie, don't worry about Track, if you practice, and keep going you will get better. Just think 3 months from now you will be getting 7:21 on your mile and 9 seconds on the 100 meter dash. Keep practicing! Don't ever give up. So Cavin, I got something from everyone but you, what's up with that?! How was Prom? Did he kiss you? You have a boyfriend now? WRITE ME! Mason-man! that's pretty cool you got an email, I will send you an email soon! Thanks for the Dots and the note, the note is on my wall and I see it every time I sit at my desk. To answer your question Christine yes Dearelder.com is the best way for the MTC. Salem, pretty cool. I've always wanted to go there after we read the play in high school. And yes, I have the same companion the whole time here and he is going to St Petersburg also.
The food here stinks, well not really, more like makes you stink. I don't think I've ever farted this much in my entire life. I think it's because they put so much fiber in the food. Speaking of which, I haven't gained any weight yet. Actually, I've lost weight which is weird.
I asked Elder SNELL, its like smell but with a "n", if he was cute for you Riss. He asked, "how old is your sister?" I said fifteen. He said, "nope I'm not cute then." Elder Snell is pretty cool but when he starts laughing he doesn't stop. Literally. It can be distracting sometimes. Everyday, except on Tuesdays and Sundays, I have gym. I usually "ball it up" I'm surprised how good I am at basketball, it's crazy. One time, on Wednesday I played a game with some Elders that take the game too seriously, and got head butted in my chin. That was fun. Not. Ha ha. At least I learned to play with some Elders that just want to have fun.
I think Sunday was different for me too. But, it was more quit than usual. Which kinda threw me off. Waking up is kinda easy for me since I'm on the top bunk and I set the alarm. So I have to jump down and turn it off. Which wakes me up. Unlike my companion who is not a morning person who takes an extra ten minutes to get out of bed, and then sits at his desk, staring at the wall for another twenty minutes. It's kinda annoying.
Some experiences I have had, Wednesday, we did a TRC (training resource center) which is a chance to teach an investigator the 1st lesson, which is the Restoration. Some background before I get to the actual lesson. My companion and I were having a difficult time teaching together, we would always interrupt each other and forget what to say. I mean personally I thought we were horrible. I went into this lessons a little nervous that we were going to mess up really bad. I prayed earnestly that I would have the spirit, so that i could teach by the spirit. Before hand. I got my desire. The lesson went by so smoothly, I could feel the Holy Ghost guiding me what to say. My companion said the right things. In my eyes, it was perfect. I was on cloud nine after wards. I felt so wonderful! I thank the Lord dearly after that.
Sorry my email is kinda short, I didn't have enough time.
LOVE YOU ALL
ELDER Ky

Week 1 - MTC

Hey Everybody!
The MTC is awesome, the spirit here is great! You can feel it everywhere even in the Lunch Room. And everyone loves everybody! I can say that the 6:30 wake up time is kinda hard, even though I have woken up every day so far at the appropriate time. I did fall asleep in church, Sunday though...yea... The Russian language is really fun to learn. Elder, which is pronounced "starryeeshnah" is said all the time. Старейшина is how it's spelt. I already know to simply pray and bear my testimony already in Russian. Today is my "P" day. Doin' laundry right now, it's a good thing I already knew how to do that. I'm surprised how many Elders do not know how to iron nor wash their clothes, its terrible. I had to tell an elder today where to put the detergent for the washers. I as I said in my letter that I said home, my companion is Elder Snell, who is pretty awesome. We have a lot of fun. He is from Georgia, so all his letters are going to take a while. I feel for him. Oh, tell Erin and Bailey thanks for the pictures, I actually got them like two hours ago. It made me smile. So how is everyone doing without me? Cassie enjoying my room? Did you find that Russian Book of Mormon I left for you?
We went to the temple today as a district, it was really nice, I always enjoy going to the temple. Even though the Provo Temple looks like a cupcake.
I have two requests from you, when you write me, could you do it at DearElder.com? If you do it there, they print it out here and I get it the next day. It's an easier way for you to write me. Secondly, could you put twenty dollars on my card? I keep remembering stuff I forgot, and it's really cheap at the bookstore here. Thanks!
